Galleries are open all day, with Artwalk taking place between 4 and 7 p.m. Artists will be on hand to greet visitors, and light refreshments will be served.
GALLERIES
This month at The Campbell Gallery, the Sisters High School AP Art and Design class showcases their portfolio, including work in multiple mediums from five students: Abi Duda, Serafina Smith, Julissa Camacho Castro, Hailey Handley, and Reagan Riemer. The class is taught by Bethany Gunnarson.
Hood Avenue Art features Oregon Sunstone Jewelry by Elyse and Steven Douglas, fused glass work by Susie Zeitner, and framed photography by Scott Cordner. The geological formation of Oregon sunstone is attributed to volcanic activity, which has resulted in the presence of copper inclusions that give the stone its distinctive color variations: yellow, orange, red, and even green. Each piece Susie Zeitner creates is fabricated in her studio and fused at 1500 degrees. Scott Cordner’s work shows a complete connection from capture of landscape to hand made frames for his images.

The Rickards Gallery showcases the art of John Sherry. As the son of an artist mother and photographer father, he settled on pastels as his medium of choice. Derived from his own photographs, his pastels adhere to the concepts of interesting subjects and good composition, from cars and trains to landscapes and coffee cups.
Wildflower Studio features new work by local artist David Rock. He specializes in realistic landscape murals using both airbrush and brushwork. Look for some of his smaller local landscapes in the gallery, in addition to new work by Edie Shelton and Mark Seekins.
Sisters Gallery and Frame hosts printmaker Denise Kester from Ashland. She specializes in monoprint and monotype viscosity printing as well as multi-media, drawing, painting and handmade books. She will also present a talk called “Art, Hope, and Important Things to Remember,” on Saturday at 4 p.m. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited to about 35. Also new this month, the fine jewelry of Timber Lark. With only a few tools, he makes each piece by hand—pendants, earrings, bracelets—shaped slowly, deliberately, simply.
The Stitchin’ Post presents “The Magic of Horses,” by June Jaeger. Her fascination with horses began when she was about five years old, and her textile art captures the agility, grace and gentle kindness of horses she’s come to know throughout her life.
Toriizaka Art presents acrylic and mixed media by Henriette Heiny, and work by ceramicist Peter Roussel. “Gilded Rift” is Henriette’s newest work - a gilded rupture that courses across the surface, opening a luminous divide where crimson depths meet flowing whites and burnished gold. For Peter, clay is a connection between past and present. His work is designed to be felt as much as it’s intended to be seen.
QuickDraw: At the close of the Artwalk, a drawing will e held for two $50 gift certificates, good at any participating gallery. Visitors may sign up once per gallery. Winners will be notified by phone and email, so it is important that all fields be complete. Thanks to Susan Bird and Stellar Realty Northwest of Sisters for their generous sponsorship.
Also, be sure to check out the work of local artists on the SAA’s Art Walls around town. Art Walls are in various non-gallery locations including The Barn, Fika, Sisters Bakery and The Hub.
