‘Tis the day after Christmas and all through the town, locals and visitors are out walking around. They may be out shopping, having coffee, or exchanging some gifts. Sisters Arts Association welcomes all to the last Fourth Friday Artwalk for 2025. Quit scrolling and start strolling! There will be light refreshments in the galleries, and even some music, between 4 and 7 p.m. Here’s a look:
GALLERIES
The Campbell Gallery features work by Austin Quattlebaum. It’s a wild ramble through nature, music, and storytelling, blending the whimsical with the wonderfully weird. His artistic roots trace back to building theater sets and crafting puppets in his youth, which sparked a love for bold designs and intricate details. His work draws inspiration from his southern upbringing, years spent guiding trips through whitewater rapids, and a deep connection to the natural world. He’s crafted massive plywood art pieces and even a 13-foot rainbow trout puppet for the Big Ponderoo Music and Arts Festival.
Hood Avenue Art is featuring a gallery-wide show that includes new works by Kathleen Keliher called “Late Autumn on the River.”
Makin’ It Local features work by ceramic artist Darrah Lundberg, known for crafting functional pottery with a sculptural, organic sensibility. Blending stoneware, porcelain, and atmospheric firings, her work reflects the quiet rhythms of the natural world while offering pieces meant to be used, held, and enjoyed every day. Darrah teaches ceramics at Portland Community College and Radius Art Studio, where she helps students build a relationship with clay through experimentation and craft. She participates in Oregon’s clay community, from wood-firing events to regional shows and open studio tours.

The Rickards Gallery will re-open after the Christmas holiday with a special retrospective collection from Dan Rickards entitled “Fire and Ice.” This curated collection focuses on the forces that created our dramatic and ruggedly beautiful landscape. Expect sweeping vistas of the Three Sisters and Mount Bachelor along with fiery sunsets and intimate campfires. Many of the featured pieces for this show have not been shown publicly for over a decade. Visit the gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. to meet Dan, hear about his artistic journey and inspiration along with wine and light bites.
Sisters Gallery and Frame’s multi-talented artist, Caroline Stratton, is also an astrologer and psychotherapist. Through the practice of astrology in the ‘70s and ‘80s, Caroline pursued a degree in psychology and practiced as a mental health therapist until her “mostly retirement,” about 10 years ago. She has continued to study astrology and create amazing artwork in watercolor, acrylic and three-dimensions. This Friday, she will offer brief astrological chart readings for $25. You will need to know your date of birth, but the time is not essential, though it will add depth and accuracy. Caroline is a transpersonal or humanistic astrologer, and she does not do predictive charts. Stop by the gallery and have fun exploring who you are.
The Stitchin’ Post’s Staff Handcrafted Gift Boutique is full of wonderful items including quilts, bags, pincushions, ornaments, and holiday décor. See the wide variety of wonderful things our creative and talented staff have created.
Toriizaka Art’s holiday cheer is evident as The Renaissance Sisters, under the leadership of Lola Knox, will perform holiday favorites starting around 4:30 p.m. All art will be offered at a 10 percent discount between 4 and 7 p.m.
Wildflower Studio will be closed for the Fourth Friday Artwalk and the following week for a well-earned holiday for the owner.
Check out The Art Walls locations, businesses that feature art on their walls. SAA encourages you to visit them during their regular business hours. That includes The Barn, Fika Coffee, Sisters Bakery, and The Hub.
