I am a fine furniture maker based in Sisters, Oregon. My work is primarily by commission, where I work one-on-one with a client to produce a fine piece of furniture that embodies our mutual tastes, style, and aesthetics.
have always been inspired by the beauty of nature, which led me to study and work in forest conservation. A love of trees then brought me to woodworking. What I like most about making furniture is the honesty of the work and having the ability to see a project through - from an abstract concept to a fine, tangible, piece of furniture.
The natural flow of wood grain inspires me and I strive to showcase the figuring and special characteristics of the materials that I incorporate into my work. My designs are influenced by the classic furniture styles of Stickley, Arts and Crafts, and Shaker, often fused with a contemporary live-edge aesthetic in the spirit of George Nakashima.
Transforming a massive slab into a polished surface is a particular joy of mine. Each slab is unique in its own way and exhibits extraordinary character and figuring. I focus on refining the wood just enough to bring out the raw beauty of the wood without losing its wild character. Slab dining tables, conference tables, desks, kitchen counters and architectural pieces bring the natural world indoors.
I stand behind my work and offer a lifetime guarantee for every piece I build. I build my furniture to last and to be enjoyed for many generations.
