Who? You and your friends
What? Fourth Friday Art Stroll
Where? Through the Galleries of Sisters
A little bit of snow never stopped anyone, right? Taking it all in stride, let’s set out for a walk through the Galleries of Sisters today – for the January 26 Fourth Friday Art Stroll.
Hood Avenue Art presents its annual Winter Studio Sale, an opportunity to collect original art at drastically reduced prices. Discover rare treasures and improve the quality of your life by filling your home with original art. The reception during Fourth Friday Art Stroll will feature live music and refreshments. Exhibit continues through February 19.
Gary Cooley’s Collection Gallery will feature photography by Lisa Belt.
Clearwater Gallery will be featuring new original works by Dan Rickards. Enjoy an evening in the gallery with Dan. Wine and light appetizers will be served from 4 to 6 p.m.
Sisters Coffee will be open until 6 p.m. with a Happy Hour, featuring Carly Garzon-Vagas who does paper art and children's books.
Nature's Bling is collaborating with Neukomm's Rock Shop from Corvallis to showcase some fine Oregon sunstones, from facet grade rough material to incredible stones set in gold and more. The selection is extraordinary in both quality and quantity. Experts will be on hand to answer all your questions all day Friday and through the Art Walk.
Check in with the other galleries on Hood Avenue as you go, including Sisters Gallery and Frame Shop, Ken Scott's Imagination Gallery, Dyrk Godby Gallery, Wildflower Studio, Grizzly Ridge Upcycle, Jill Neal Gallery, and Studio Redfield.
If any of the galleries are closed, you may find the proprietors and artists down at Sisters Library, where the reception for the Friends of Sisters Library Community Show is taking place today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This is the biggest show of the year in the Library, this year featuring more than 100 works by local artists. There will be refreshments available, and this will be the last opportunity to vote for your favorite artworks, as the three People’s Choice Award will be announced toward the end of the evening. Art is hung throughout the Library – in the Community Room, Computer Room, Fireplace Room, and Children’s Room. Most of the pieces are for sale by the artists.
Fourth Friday Art Strolls will continue in Sisters year round. If you miss the event tonight, be sure to come back in February. Maps are available in all of the galleries.
